I’m Alex Nick, host of the Escape Artist podcast. I have a kick ass job at Google where I’m working on the future of Augmented Reality advertising. More than a decade into my corporate career I’m curious to understand career paths that go beyond the corporate world. When is it worth it to make the leap from employee to following your dream? Is it worth it?

Where were we? The podcast. The Escape Artist is about unconventional and brave career transitions. Their stories will help you decide if, when, and how to quit your corporate career and venture bravely towards discovering your true calling in life. In each episode, I interview guests who've made that often terrifying — but usually liberating — leap. 

Some of my guests have made it. Some have become incredibly famous.  Some are very rich. And some of them aren’t. But what they all have in common is that they’re a whole lot happier than they ever were before. 

This would have been a perfect description before COVID-19 changed our perspective on the world. This is why the show explores how our previously often romantic and rosy view of entrepreneurship and search for passion collides with the harsh reality of a crisis. Therefore, each episode will be followed up with an additional update on how each guest is dealing with the crisis and what we can learn from them.
